Choosing Convex Mirrors
8th Jan 2021
Who needs a Safety Mirror?
Visibility
is a key safety concern, especially in warehouses, driveways and other areas
used by heavy machinery, vehicles, and forklifts. Safety mirrors increase your
field of view - enabling you to see hazards and avoid injury. Safety mirrors
are an integral part of traffic safety, warehouse safety and pedestrian safety.
Safety mirrors are a low cost, maintenance free safety solution that works!
Which Size of Safety Mirror Do I Need?
Selecting
the right size of safety mirror is important because it's the size of the
safety mirror which determines the viewing distance. The handy chart below
provides a good indication to the viewing distances each mirror is best suited
for. You can calculate the combined viewing distance you need by adding the
distance from the viewer to the mirror and the distance from the mirror to the
object/person to be viewed. Match this distance with the chart to obtain the
right size mirror for your application. If in doubt, always choose the larger
size mirror.
Internal or External?
All our internal and external safety mirrors are weatherproof. However, the external mirrors feature stronger brackets capable of tolerating windy conditions and a sun visor to minimise glare.
Acrylic or Stainless Steel?
Stainless steel safety mirrors are undoubtedly heavy duty. They are suitable for a number of applications including use in food processing plants, mining environments and areas prone to high vandalism. Acrylic safety signs are designed for harsher factory environments and locations where vandals may be a problem.
