Choose from our range of steel and plastic bollards:
They look just like an ordinary steel bollard to the untrained eye, but in fact they’re flexible. An internally welded, steel spring allows the bollard to flex on impact, absorbing the force of the collision and minimising damage to the bollard. Fewer damaged bollards means a cost saving on replacements. These bollards are ideal for locations where collisions with vehicles occur on a frequent basis. Bollards and guard rails are, by their very nature, designed to protect buildings from vehicle collisions. Inevitably when a collision happens, the protecting bollard or guard rail is re-moved, thrown away and replaced with a new unit. This can be a costly exercise. Our impact absorbing bollards are designed to minimise this cost, without sacrificing protection. Our impact absorbing bollards (IAB’s) feature an internal 10mm steel compression spring under tension that allows the bollard to flex slightly under impact, thereby absorbing the collision. The bollards and guard rails are designed for use in environments where slow moving vehicles are more likely to come into contact with the protection devices. Should the impact from a collision force the bollard to fl ex further, once the bollards fl exes beyond a certain point, typically 300mm at the top of the bollard, an internal locking system ensures the bollard moves no further and locks up.
