How Can Solar Pedestrian Warning Signs Protect Pedestrians in High-Traffic Zones?

Client Brief

A Bridgestone Distribution Centre in Victoria needed a solar traffic sign solution to improve pedestrian safety across their busy vehicle loading area. The client required a system that would clearly alert drivers to pedestrians and operate reliably in an industrial environment.

Assessment

Our team recommended a reliable and efficient solar powered pedestrian warning system combining visual alerts on multiple fronts. When the solar traffic sign system is in standby mode (no pedestrians crossing) the backlit sign face illuminates intermittently increasing awareness to approaching drivers. Button activation on either side of the crossing triggers the synchronised animation of the pedestrian signs edge lit LED’s, the backlit sign face and flush mounted solar road markers. Key Features included:

  • Fully solar-powered operation, no mains connection required.
  • Edge-lit LED pedestrian signs with backlit faces for maximum visibility.
  • Flush-mounted solar road studs to guide drivers and increase awareness.
  • Wireless connectivity between posts, signs, and solar power banks.

Outcome

We installed a off-grid Solar Pedestrian Warning System with solar road studs. Each solar traffic sign post, activation button, pedestrian sign, and solar power bank operates as an independent standalone system, with all components (including the solar road studs) connected wirelessly.
