The Soltech traffic light system is designed to improve pedestrian safety by controlling traffic flow around the pedestrian crossing.
The Soltech solar powered pedestrian crossing/traffic light system is similar in operation to a standard pedestrian crossing system and eliminates the need for trenching to run power and wiring. (Powered systems are also available for applications where there is no direct access to sunlight, eg. internal warehouse applications).
The entire system is powered by a high-quality solar power bank mounted atop the same post as the pedestrian sign and activation button/PIR. The two mounting posts, push buttons/PIR, solar power banks, pedestrian crossing signs and optional road studs are independent standalone systems.
The connection between all components, including the optional solar flush mounted road studs is wireless. Push button or touchless PIR (Passive Infrared) activation on either side of the crossing begins the system programmed operation.
After activation the traffic light change from green to amber to red. The pedestrian symbol changes from a red to green walking symbol advising the pedestrian to cross. The timing between all process steps is programable to allow customisation to your site.
